media power in germany - shown on the discussion about a national database
The independent newspapers in Germany put pressure on the government parties and will eventually overthrow their plans to set up a database with information about all german citizen which would be touching our fundamental rights. Their influence on the german population is sufficient to make these plans such a big issue for everyone so that the government will not dare to implement their plans.
